Sustainability & Energy
AmCham supports the Government’s commitment to transition to a carbon neutral economy by 2050, as well as the EU’s target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030.
AmCham believes that developing additional grid capacity and expanding our ability to store energy for times of peak demand are central to achieving Ireland’s renewable energy targets. It is also calling for organisations to be assisted in adopting new sustainable technologies to support the transition to a zero carbon economy.
AmCham believes that targets for the rollout of electric and hydrogen fuelled vehicles should be aggressively pursued and that there should be a focus on job creation in areas such as installing renewable technologies.
