Applications Open! AmCham 2025 US-Ireland Business Awards - Closing Friday, 29 November 2024

Applications are now open for AmCham's 2025 US-Ireland Business Awards.

These prestigious Awards, recognise inspiring individuals, teams and organisations who have strengthened the US-Ireland business, trade and investment relationship in areas including business development, education, research and innovation, and arts and culture and who are committed to sustainable business, inclusion and giving back to the community. 

These Awards will honour individuals, teams, and organisations, who are working to continue to strengthen this relationship under three categories as part of these Awards. These categories are:
- Global Leadership Award
- Global Community Award
- Global Impact Award

The winners of all three award categories in the 2025 US-Ireland Business Awards will be presented with their Awards at the AmCham Annual Dinner on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, in the Clayton Burlington Hotel, Dublin. These Awards are kindly sponsored by EY and IDA Ireland with The Irish Times as Media partner.

Global Leadership Award

This Award is presented to an individual who has had a significant, positive impact on US-Ireland business relations.  The recipient is recognised as someone who is committed to inclusion and gender equality and the impact honoured by the Award is one that is independently and verifiably recognised – beyond the individual’s own organisation.  

The recipient could come from a wide range of spheres including but not limited tobusiness, education, research, public sector, cultural.  

Global Impact Award

This Award is presented to a team/organisation for a project that has had a significant positive, global or international impact on markets or society. This impact could be in areas including but not limited to Research, development and innovation , Talent development , Advanced manufacturing/industry 4.0-5.0 , Digitisation/Artificial intelligence , Sustainability, Supply chain innovation.

The team/organisation must be nominated by someone on the team/in the organisation who has been involved in the nominated project.

The impact of the project is independently recognised/measured and has a transatlantic, international or global impact. 

Global Community Award

This Award is presented to an individual, team or organisation, including US MNCs, that has had a positive societal/community impact in an area that is aligned with the values of AmCham and our membership. Areas for recognition include - Advancing gender equality, Championing inclusion, Reducing social discrimination/disadvantage, Enabling education attainment.

The impact of the individual, team or organisation is independently recognised/measured and has a transatlantic, international or global impact. 

This Award is open to individuals, teams or organisation based on the island of Ireland, with links to the US corporate sector. The Award can be presented for a specific project or for the overall impact of an individual, organisation or team.

What is the Criteria for the Global Leadership Award?

This Award is presented to an individual who has had a significant, positive impact on US-Ireland business relations.  

The recipient is recognised as someone who is committed to inclusion and gender equality and the impact honoured by the Award is one that is independently and verifiably recognised – beyond the individual’s own organisation. 

The recipient could come from a wide range of spheres including but not limited to – business, education, research, public sector, cultural. 

An individual does not have to be Irish or American to be considered for this Award. Any individual may be considered for this Award, regardless of country of birth or residence, if they meet the other criteria for this Award.

Examples might include: 

  • A leadership figure from a US or Irish multinational with transatlantic operations. 
  • A leader from the Higher Education and/or Research communities who has enhanced transatlantic cooperation.
  • Someone recognised as having had a very positive impact on the transatlantic trade and investment landscape.

  • Higher Education Institutions (HEI), Research Centres or institutes based on the island of Ireland with links to the US corporate sector and
  • Irish (island of Ireland) Micro Enterprises or SMEs with links to the US corporate sector 

The project/team/orgainsation must be nominated by someone on the team/in the orgainsation who has been involved in the nominated project. 

The organisation must also be able to demonstrate its commitment to the US-Ireland trade and investment relationship and it's contribution to US-Ireland relations.

The team/organisation demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and gender-balance. They also demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.

This Award is open to teams and organisations based on the island of Ireland. This could include:

  • The Irish operations of a US headquartered and controlled multinational company (MNC)
  • Higher Education Institutions (HEI), Research Centres or institutes based on the island of Ireland with links to the US corporate sector and
  • Irish (island of Ireland) Micro Enterprises or SMEs with links to the US corporate sector 

Examples of the types of projects that might be considered for the Global Impact Award include:  

  • Breakthrough research innovation that has measurable transatlantic/global impact  
  • Innovations in digitisation; operational excellence; supply chain management that have had transatlantic/global application  
  • Development and implementation of talent development programmes that have had transatlantic/global application

When do Nominations Open for the US-Ireland Business Awards?

Applications for the 2025 US-Ireland Business Awards open on September 23rd, 2024. 

The deadline to submit nominations is November 29th, 2024.

All successfully shortlisted organisations will be announced in March 2025, ahead of the Awards presentation in May.

What Happens When I Submit an Application?

You will receive an automatic confirmation that your application has been submitted. 

Our independent panel of judges will meet and decided on the winners for each of the three award categories. Note: The independent judging panel may decide on a shortlist of nominees for the Global Impact Award and the Global Community Award.

 

Shortlisted applications will be announced in March 2025. 

 

May 29th 2025: Winners will presented with their Awards at the 2025 AmCham Annual Dinner in the Clayton Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

 

Note:

  • All decisions of the independent judging panel will be final and the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland will not enter any discussions or correspondence on the basis of the panel’s decisions.

Who Can I Nominate?

Global Impact Award - The team/orgainsation must be nominated by someone on the team/in the orgainsation who has been involved in the nominated project. 

Global Leadership Award - You can nominate any individual who meets the eligibility criteria

Global Community Award - You can nominate any individual, team or organisation who meets the eligibility criteria

What will the Winner of Each Award Recieve?

Each winning individual/team/organisation will receive a specially commissioned award. Their achievements will be profiled prominently in The Irish Times and amongst the stakeholders of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland.

Can I Submit More than One Application?

There is not limit to the number of nominations you can submit to each award category. 

Please be aware that multiple applications from the same organisation in the same category will be in competition with each other.

When will the Awards be Presented?

The winners of all three award categories will be presented with their Awards on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at the 2025 AmCham Annual Dinner in the Clayton Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

Is there a fee to Enter these Awards?

There is no entry fee for these Awards.

How will the Winners be Chosen? - Independent Judging Panel

AmCham has convened an independent judging panel, with expertise across a broad range of disciplines, to ensure that all applications received are rigorously assessed to the highest international standards.  

Following the close of receipt of applications, all nominations will undergo an initial compliance review to ensure that applications assessed for these awards are presented in the spirit of the awards and support the mission of the American Chamber.

AmCham reserves the right not to assess applications deemed to have the potential to damage stakeholder relationships or attract adverse publicity or public comment.

The judging panel reserves the right to move applications between categories. If this is the case, entrants will be notified of such a change.

The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland will not enter any discussions or correspondence on the basis of these decisions or the judging panel’s determinations.
